My Story

Let me share a little about who I am and how I came to this place in life.

I’m a Wisconsin native and by nature have a passionate love for, and curiosity about, life, people, and our planet.

I love stories. Particularly the thread of our life stories and how they create a unique winding path to our present. One experience leads to the next. Each choice begets another choice, and here we are.

I’m a hard wired caretaker. That nature has served me by enabling me to create long lasting friendships, seek out a noble career in nursing, and have a deep sense of empathy for the world around me.

Like most things, caretaking has a shadow side which includes nebulous personal boundaries, giving away ones power, low sense of self worth, imbalanced relationships, and general burnout.

I am no stranger to the trials and traumas of life, and it was my divorce in 2014 that pushed me to dig deeper than I ever had before.  It was the most painful event of my life and also the most personally and spiritually fruitful.  Through the muck and mud I emerged better equipped with new tools and know-how for improving my relationships, knowing my value, and practicing radical self care. My life transformed in ways I could never have imagined.

Additionally, burnout from years in our disintegrating health care system left me feeling frustrated and longing to be on the other side, educating and empowering people to find alternative, sustainable, and natural approaches to improving their health. I realized that, after decades of indulging my passion for personal growth, clean eating, and mindful living, a career shift to empowering health and wellness from a holistic perspective would better align with my values and sense of purpose. In 2017, I completed the program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and now practice as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach (INHC), or Holistic Wellness Mentor, as I like to call myself.

I am ready to share the plethora of tools and skills I’ve acquired in life and am excited to continue to grow and expand in the process. After a lifetime of taking care of other people, I had to learn how to better take care of myself, and I’m passionate about empowering others to do the same. We are all individuals and our path to wellness is no exception.  Yours will not be the same as mine, and I’m eager to help uncover your unique path.

When I’m away from work you can find me enjoying time curled up on the couch with my sweetheart watching movies, savoring stillness on my meditation cushion, connecting with friends for a delicious meal, exploring the world through the creative lens of my camera, cooking and preserving seasonal locally sourced food for our table, soaking in nature, or traveling the world on a quest for learning new languages, cultures, and food traditions.

There is an old saying that when the student is ready, the teacher will come. If you are reading this you must be feeling a pull or inner call to find a new way in life. I invite you to partner with me to Awaken to your life, Create your path of aligned action, and experience long term Transformation.

Together, through active listening and intuitive inquiry, we will identify areas of imbalance, create sustainable action steps to meet your goals, and celebrate your successes.  My role is to remind you that YOU are your greatest asset in being well.  I will guide and empower you to become an agent of positive change in your life, which in turn ripples out to the world around you.  You can do this, and I can help.

I would feel honored to hear your story.

Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!

After growing up in South-Central Wisconsin, I attended Edgewood College in Madison, WI, and graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a minor in Spanish.  Five years of critical care nursing had a deep and lasting impact, though feeling ready for a shift in direction.  I attended Rush University in 1997 and graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Anesthesia.  I have continued to work in a variety of settings as a Nurse Anesthetist since 1999. Currently I am self employed and have a fulfilling part time practice as an independent provider of ambulatory anesthesia.

I’ve spent two decades indulging my passion for personal growth, clean eating, and mindful living.  The workshops, retreats, trainings, classes, committees and casual mentorships I've attended and experienced have been vast and varied. Pursuing more formal education aligned with my values felt like a natural next step. In 2017 I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) where I expanded on my life skills by learning innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories.

Drawing on my expertise, I will guide you in Awakening to yourself and the drivers of your patterns and behaviors. Together we will co-Create a living action plan that leads to sustainable life Transformation around the things that matter most to you.

Each session will leave you feeling inspired and motivated. We will talk about things beyond food and movement, seeking to bring balance to important elements of your life such as spirituality, relationships, career, and stress management.

The road to vibrant health is influenced by so much more than we've ever been told. I will personally and carefully guide you to make simple, small changes that transform your life.

“The capacity to learn is a gift, the ability to learn is a skill,
the willingness to learn is a choice.”

Personal Gratitudes

Gratitude is one of the most essential practices I commit to in life.

In that spirit I want to offer deep heartfelt gratitude to some extra special people who have been my light and support in venturing down this path in life.

Acknowledging the good you already have in your life is the foundation for all abundance.

My Beloved, Dean Fraser

In the simplest of terms, thank you for helping me learn how to love again, providing me a safe place to practice being authentic, partnering with me in creating our version of "healthy balance", and making me laugh on a daily basis.

Thank you for trusting me, believing in me, reminding me of my gifts, calling me out on my sh*t, mirroring my truth, talking me off the ledge, and (for some of you) being with me for the long haul in this lifetime. I don't know where I'd be without you.

My family, amazing tribe of friends, and other badass lady bosses who've been unintentional teachers, inspiration, and support for me in boldly living my purpose.
